PROJECT Shifting Grounds
Through this project I propose a different relationship between architecture and people based on a broader range of sensory, social and temporal qualities. It’s an exploration of the complex relationship between the visual language of a built structure, its psychological effects and the reality in which it functions. Using the concept of the uncanny to approach architectural spaces of particular significance, the project raises questions about the production of meaning in that place and its surroundings. When no longer merely based on conventions, this becomes dependent on one’s own imagination. In this way, the project aims to be an experience of architectural possibilities; expressing new ways of living.
